Facepalm Friday. And it’s only Tuesday.

Dressed down today, forgetting that I’m participating in a group interview for a high level candidate at 11:30. Oops. Jeans. T-shirt. Heather gray. Oops, oops, oops.

At times like these, I wish I kept a spare dress in my office. I have hidden compartments, corners, and closets enough to do it. Do you keep any emergency clothing around the workplace? Have you ever had to use it?

  1. I always kept a pair of shoes in the back of my file drawer that I called “my 8th floor shoes” and a sweater that could spruce up most outfits. They didn’t come out often but did sometimes.

    • Great idea! Shoes + accessories seems more manageable than hiding a whole spare wardrobe in my desk drawer, and would probably do the trick in most cases.

  2. I have 5 pair of shoes under my desk -heels, rain boots, running sneakers, cute sneakers, clogs. I also have a cloche and a t-shirt with my work logo on it in my file cabinet.
    This prepares me for everything and nothing.

    • I have tried to keep rainboots at work, but I only have one pair, so inevitably when the rain comes, the boots and I are in separate places. I think even if I bought a spare pair I would find myself with two at home or two in the office, and still never have them when I need them (kind of like how all 6 pairs of my dad’s reading glasses wind up in his car where he takes them off and leaves them)
